Community
Living supports a variety of individuals, some only needing a few hours of
support and others needing 24-hour support services. You will assist individuals with a variety of
supports such as hygiene, cooking, cleaning, doctor appointments, banking,
grocery shopping and on outings in the community. Each person’s skills vary and so does the
support they receive. Individuals
requiring 24-hour support services, will need assistance with all their
activities of daily life, including bathing, feeding and dressing.
Most
Full-time shifts are 8 hour shifts working 5 days a week. We also have substitute positions that cover
for employees who may be ill or on vacation or just when extra coverage is
needed, however substitutes are not guaranteed any minimum number of hours.
Community
Living provides support services to adults with developmental disabilities in
their own homes. The individuals we
support are medically fragile and require 24 hour support services. They require assistance with all their activities
of daily life, such as bathing, feeding, dressing, cooking, cleaning, taking
them to doctor’s appointments, grocery shopping and on outings in the
community. Also, many of the individuals
we support need assistance transferring in and out of wheelchairs. Therefore, the ability to lift is required
for this position.
You work
three 13 -hour shifts and have four days off.
We also have substitute positions that cover for employees who may be
ill or on vacation or just when extra coverage is needed, however substitutes
are not guaranteed any minimum number of hours.
Community
Living routinely conducts employment interviews for direct service staff
positions. In order to qualify for an
interview, you must have the following minimum conditions of employment:
Valid drivers license
High School diploma or GED
Social Security Card
Be 18 years of age or older
Access to an insured vehicle during
work shift (not
Pass a Background check and
Have
a safe driving record
All full- time positions
receive a comprehensive benefits package (part-time positions receive a partial
benefits package) which consists of the following:
§ Medical and Dental Insurance
§ Personal Leave (vacation, holiday,
& sick)
We also have
a 401(k) program and provide a paid 40 hour orientation.
The starting
wage is $9.65 an hour (Yakima), $ 9.40 an hour (Sunnyside), $11.45 an hour
(Bellevue) and $10.90 an hour (Kent).
